Oaksey P.H.E.W.

PHEW stands for “Participation, Health, Exercise and Well-being’” and comprises a series of organised events open to all the community.

This is a joint initiative between the Parish Council and Oaksey Playing Field Trust to promote community activities in Oaksey.

Typical activities include a tennis tournament, tennis ladder, history walks, summer and winter mountain bike rides, 10k run, road bike rides and table tennis events.

We hope to engage most of the community in these events but if there are any further suggestions please let us know.

Forthcoming Events

The Summer Mountain Bike Ride – Sunday 9th July 2017

18 mile route suitable for all. Start at the Village Hall at 10.00. A mixture of lanes, unsurfaced tracks, muddy bridleways, jumps and a water splash. Cake stop half way.

The Road Bike Ride – Sunday 17th September 2017

A repeat previous years’ events, the route is 21 miles long and covers every road within the Oaksey Parish via a series of loops that pass through the village several times so shorter distances can be completed. The ride starts at 10.00 at the Village Hall.

The Late Summer Walk – Sunday 24th September 2017

The second walk is around the Ampneys and is 4.5miles long. Meeting point is the loop road off the A417 grid ref 073 017 at 14.00.

The Winter Mountain Bike Ride Sunday 3rd December 2017 

A repeat of the Summer 18mile route but a bit wetter and muddier with welcome cake and coffee halfway. Meet at the village hall at 10.00.
