Oaksey Village Hall
The Oaksey Village Hall was opened by H.R.H. The Prince of Wales on 6th September 2000 and provides a wonderful space for a wide range of community events, private parties or business functions. Being in the heart of the village next to the village green and play area, the hall provides the perfect place for any occasion.
The Hall has two main rooms that are available for hire separately; or you may have exclusive use of the entire hall.
- Main Hall – The John Assheton Hall – 14.6 m x 8.5 m (48ft x 28ft) plus a stage area 4.27 m x 8.5 m (14ft x 28ft), is a light airy room has large French doors opening out onto a sunny south facing terrace with a rose garden and views over stunning countryside.
- Side Room – The Rest – 6.4 m x 4.6 m (21ft x 15ft), this room can be used as an annex to the main hall or independently. This double aspect room has double doors that open out onto the playing fields. The floor in this room is carpeted, and there is also a small quarter hatch to the kitchen area.
The Hall regularly holds classes for fitness, dance and yoga, amongst other things; and welcomes local people who want to run classes or events of their own. Village functions such as the Oaksey Fete and regular meetings of the Parish Council, WI and Lunch Club take place here.
The Parish Council strongly encourages use of the Hall and village residents get preferential rates for its use. There is a Village Hall committee, which runs the Hall as a charity, as well as a fund-raising and events committee. We would welcome participation on these committees from all residents.
